nahui is a 2,100-acre lifestyle community fronting 4.5 km of pristine beachfront at Destiladeras Beach in Riviera Nayarit. Its initial phase will include private residences, condominiums, and custom home sites; Tau Resort; a collection of fifteen boutique hotels and a variety of recreational amenities. All surround a central Village and Entertainment Plaza, designed for shopping, dining, nightlife and cultural events.
nahui Village) is the initial community being developed and will set the tone for the lifestyle and soul of nahui. A pedestrian pueblo (the Village) at the property’s western edge facing the beach will provide a publicly accessible retail, dining and entertainment center. It will become the hub of activity at nahui, and provide a vibrant sense of community, as well as offer services and amenities for residents and guests.
A David Flemming design 18-hole golf course will be part of the community.
nahui is located just 30 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta’s International Airport, set along an exquisite stretch of beach on the North Shore of Banderas Bay. A new road will ultimately relocate access to nahui, to the north of the property.
nahui is conceived above all as a place of connection to the sea. The sea is at all times visible, heard or reachable by foot. With over 4.5 km of oceanfront at the renowned Playa Destiladeras, a tropical tree cover and more than 243 meters of elevation change, this rugged terrain is envisioned to produce three distinct but interconnected resort communities. Each community will be linked to the sea by carefully considered view corridors, golf and major arroyos, with paths permitting residents and guests easy movement free of automobiles.
Nahui refers to the number four in the Nahuatl language. For the more ancient people of this region, the world revolved around the number four: four were the fundamental places into which the world was divided (assumed to be the cardinal points), four were the cycles of life and death, four were the principal deities, four were the means of exercising political and religious power. The term Nahui Ollin (which means movement) was at the heart of their cosmology –that is the four suns of the universe: sun of water, sun of wind, sun of earth, sun of fire.
